Recoating The I-65 Arch Bridge With A Lumiflon FEVE Coating

Industrial Coatings, Lumiflon FEVE, Fluoropolymer, Bridges, Coatings
The I-65 arch bridge in Columbus, Indiana was in need of repainting due to fading and delaminating of its original coating. Consequently, the structural steel was showing spot rust. Indiana Department of Transportation requested for a coating that would provide maximum color and gloss retention, which they found in Carboline’s Carboxane 950 Satin finish with Lumiflon FEVE resin technology....

Lumiflon FEVE Resins used in 2014’s Tank of the Year

In 2013, the city of Midland, Texas finished the construction of the Midland Composite Elevated Tank, a two million gallon water storage tower that sits above the T-Bar Well Field. Located in one of the driest areas in the country, the tank would have little downtime, so it was imperative that a low maintenance coating system would match the life cycle. The engineers chose Tnemec’s Series 700 Hydroflon with Lumiflon FEVE Resin technology as the exterior coating for its proven resistance to ultraviolet damage, as well as its long-term color and gloss retention.

Bailey’s Crossroads Skyline Offices Revitalized With FEVE Resin Coatings

Architectural Coatings, PPG, Lumiflon, Coraflon ADS, FEVE Resin, Fluoropolymer
The Bailey’s Crossroads Skyline buildings in Arlington, VA were completed in the 1970s. The original black coatings used on the aluminum façade of the building had transformed to a dark brown, mud-like color that were in need of dire attention. In 2001, the building’s former owners, Charles E. Smith Co. then hired William Pegues of Weigh Design Group who contacted his representatives at PPG. They recommended Coraflon ADS with Lumiflon FEVE flouropolymer resin-based coating for its field applicability, durability and extensive color selection that match factory applied coatings.

The city of Grand Rapids is home to most of the metal truss bridges in Michigan. Above the Grand River sits the famous “Blue Bridge,” which connects downtown with local museums and Grand Valley State University. Formerly a double railroad bridge, the Blue Bridge was converted to a footbridge to encourage non-motorized traffic. The Blue Bridge was repainted in 2013 containing Tnemec’s Fluoron...

Lumiflon FEVE Resins Are The Subject Of School Roof Restoration

Bandys High School, Roofing, Lumiflon, Coraflon, All-Tech Decorating, Roof Restoration
Throughout the United States, schools with metal roofs have become commonplace. The roofs’ protective coatings are applied directly to the metal coils during manufacturing, from which the roof panels are formed. However, when these roofs begin to show signs of deterioration, the entire roof needs to be stripped, primed and recoated. All-Tech Decorating Company (ATD) and PPG’s Coraflon ADS with Lumiflon FEVE Resin gives school roofs factory-like fluoropolymer finishes with higher durability, gloss rate, gloss retention, weatherability and corrosion resistance than the former factory applied finishes for perfect roof restoration.
