FEVE Architectural Coatings: High Performance Coatings for Expansive, Sustainable Design
Live Webinar airing on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 12:15 EDT
Sponsored by AGC Chemicals Americas, Inc.
Presented by Kristen Blankenship, LUMIFLON
Hosted by AEC Daily

In this one-hour course, we will discover the strengths and advantages of FEVE topcoats. We will evaluate coating performance tests including accelerated weathering and real-time weathering and what the implications are for the life of different coatings. We will explore the many design possibilities that FEVE provides and assess the benefits of FEVE topcoats despite their higher initial cost compared to other topcoat formulations.

Learning Objectives:
-Define FEVE coating technology, history, and unique properties as well as its ease of application in the architectural market
-Discuss the importance of the form of coatings including color, finish, and gloss range
-Discover the function of a fluoropolymer coating in terms of performance, substrates, and types
-Describe the sustainability and environmental impact of long-life coatings

Presenter: Kristen Blankenship, Business Development Manager – AGC, Inc/Lumiflon

Kristen has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Evansville. She has spent the last 19 years in the coatings industry working for various coating, chemical, and material manufacturing companies. She began her career as an analytical chemist at Red Spot Paint, focusing on defect analysis. This experience allowed her to develop a unique approach to formulation with a focus on structure-property relationships. She eventually became a UV curable coatings formulator at Red Spot and later moved up to Cytec Industries as a technical service chemist. In 2013, she became technical service chemist at AGC Chemicals Americas and after three years working in the lab, she moved into business development. She now supports strategic accounts in developing high performance coating technology based on LUMIFLON® FEVE resins.
