The Grafton elevated water tower has provided water services to the community of Grafton, Ohio since the 1990’s. Serving the residents, businesses, and even local Grafton Village Fire Department, the tank has been continuously exposed to the climatic conditions of northwest Ohio. And in 2019, the city secured a grant to rehabilitate to aging tank.

The Iowa Finance Authority hosted an “It’s in the Water” contest in 2019 with the grand prize locality winner receiving a custom water tank. The City of Muscatine won the contest, announced at the Iowa State Fair, in late 2019. The Iowa Finance Authority commissioned local artist, Laura Palmer, for the tower’s design.

The tank features an exceptional mural design hand painted by Eric Henn, an international muralist. The hyper realistic mural depicts local sea life of the Gulf of Mexico and features a high-performance coating system to ensure its lifespan for years to come.
