LUMIFLON fluoropolymer resins are made from an alternating molecular structure that protects coatings from degradation caused by UV radiation, chemicals, and other environmental hazards. They can be formulated to produce coatings with a wide range of gloss levels, from matte finishes to high gloss. Since the resins are clear, they are fully compatible with a broad range of pigments and colors.

LUMIFLON resins have outperformed even the best acrylic urethane coatings on steel, aluminum, magnesium and plastics such as ABS, polyurethane, FRP, PVC, polyethylene, polypropylene and polycarbonate.  This performance enables transportation manufacturers to create and maintain appearance and protection for years. LUMIFLON-based topcoats have demonstrated more than five times the lifespan of acrylic urethane coatings typically used in the transportation industry. The resins can also be blended with traditional resins, such as acrylics, to significantly enhance their performance.

Manufacturers can also use LUMIFLON resins to formulate high-gloss, brightly colored paint systems, as well as low-gloss finishes. Their compatibility with a wide range of pigments and colorants enables engineers to select coatings with an almost unlimited combination of color and gloss options. LUMIFLON resins can be used in any area where outstanding weather and chemical resistance are required.

LUMIFLON-based coatings can reduce maintenance costs in the aerospace market by as much as 50% over the life of the aircraft, while also substantially reducing revenue loss during scheduled repainting.

Aircraft coated with these resins typically require no repainting for at least eight years, maintaining outstanding appearance and a durable surface that allows for easy cleaning. In contrast, acrylic urethanes begin to fade and chalk after only three years and require repainting after five.

LUMIFLON resins are used worldwide in aerospace coatings for both military and commercial aircraft. They are available in high-solids, solvent-based systems as well as environmentally friendly solid resins, enabling the formulation of low-VOC and HAPS-free coatings.
