The Eddyfi Technologies World Headquarters in Quebec Canada is seeking leed certification. The project features locally sourced timber, triple glazed windows and a perforated metal wall panel exterior. The perforated wall panels provide the façade with daylighting, to shield the second story from excessive natural light exposure. Coarchitecture, with coatings applicator Anacolor, provided the building's coatings solution.

In an article in PaintSquare News, the editors explain, “While the architect wanted all the colors for the exterior coatings to be formulated in powder to work toward the LEED status, it also sought durability and performance associated with liquid coatings. That's when Anacolor suggested the use of ppg's coraflon powder coatings.”

The majority of the façade boasts PPG Coraflon White Pearl powder coating with a small amount of PPG Coraflon Gauntlet Gray powder as well.
According to Anacolor, “The most challenging part of the project was formulating the colors that the architects specified in the PPG Coraflon powder coatings. A particular challenge was the White Pearl that had to be bonded in a special way to preserve the pearlescent effect, which shines on the building in the evening.”
PPG's Coraflon® ADS employs Lumiflon FEVE resin technology that protects a coating against UV radiation, rain, salt, and other elemental deterrents, preventing coat degradation. The low-VOC fluoropolymer is ideal for high-exposure projects like the Eddyfi Technologies World Headquarters, as the FEVE resin ensures color and gloss retention of a coating which will allow the building to remain in pristine condition for decades.
