Canopy by Hilton in the Portland Peal District is the first West Coast property for the Hilton Hotels & Resorts new lifestyle brand. The branding concept was simple, as the architects describe, “…a design that would fit with the neighborhood and elegantly blend old and new.”

The 34-story commercial building at 45 Fremont Center in the South Financial District of San Francisco was originally built in 1978 by internationally-renowned architects Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. Yet, the building was showing its age and required a renovation in 2016. To update its exterior a low-VOC fluoropolymer was utilized, which the coatings experts at Tnemec provided to ensure a long-lasting and aesthetically-pleasing result.

Dutch architecture firm UNStudio first teamed up with ALPOLIC Materials in 2015 for their BAU tradeshow booth, the world’s leading trade fair for architecture, materials and systems. They teamed up again in 2017 to produce a prismatic masterpiece that pushes the boundaries of what is possible with an aluminum composite material.

Arc by Crown Group are high-end luxury apartments in Sydney, Australia. Designed by Koichi Takada Architects, the building provides an iconic addition to the historic cityscape. The architects describe, “Located in a key heritage precinct in Sydney’s Central Business District (CBD), the building is designed to reactivate its surroundings and extend to the broader urban context, ultimately reshaping and softening the city’s skyline.”

In Vienna, Austria, design duo Andrea Daemon and Andreas Doser of ad2 architekten ZT have designed the impressive CoMED private residence. The home is immediately eye-catching as its construction features a series of abstracted geometric shapes. The addition to the home’s unusual angular shape, a prismatic aluminum composite material was used to fully construct the exterior. Alucobond’s Spectra Galaxy Blue was chosen to provide a modern, iridescent alternative to traditional residential building materials.
