The Kenwood Interdisciplinary Research Complex, KIRC, is an over 140,000 square-foot building on the UWM campus designed by Flad Architects. Completed in 2015, the building was the first new construction on campus in two decades. The building houses the college’s science, technology, engineering and mathematics departments.

In the late 1960s a 251-foot architectural landmark was built at the University at Albany in New York. The 320,000-gallon standpipe water tank was in desperate need of renovation after seeing massive corrosion. The engineers at Delta and Field Applicator, TDA Construction, worked closely with Tnemec Company to replace the structure’s lead-based exterior paint and interior lining with an advanced fluoropolymer coating system.

Usually reserved for bold European designs, the Exo Apartments in Reston, Virginia boast a facade clad entirely of aluminum composite. The iridescent exterior is enveloped in ALUCOBOND Spectra Ocean, a color-shifting finish which features a LUMIFLON FEVE resin topcoat. Interestingly, the façade has more than one adaptive cladding material, the building also utilizes smart glass technology that changes severity of window tint to optimize natural daylight penetration.

Renowned specialty store Neiman Marcus is known for their contemporary retail designs. One of their more iconic outlets is the storefront at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York. The exterior features a captivating three-dimensional façade in a variety of neutral colors. Designed by Elkus Manfredi Architects, the exterior utilizes 2,300 ALPOLIC FR metal composite panels.
