Fluoroethylene Vinyl Ether (FEVE) Versus Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF): A Exploration Of The Benefits Of FEVE Resin Technology

Buyaka Shopping Mall, Istanbul, Turkey, Dilekci Architects, Photography Faruk Kurtulus
There are a whole host of benefits to the utilization of an FEVE resin over a PVDF. These benefits include aesthetic-based benefits, application-based benefits, and sustainability benefits. FEVE (fluoroethylene vinyl ether) was developed to address the shortcomings with traditional fluoropolymer resins like PVDF, they are manufactured by copolymerization of a fluoroethylene monomer with a vinyl ether monomer.

Upcoming Webinar: Contextual Coatings: The Future Of Metal Cladding

Janus Riverside, Brenac Gonzalez, Alucobond PLUS, TIM Composites, Photography Sergio Grazia
This course discusses the future of exterior coatings and finishes, and explains the bespoke process of achieving a site-specific, client-specific design. Using the offset gravure printing process, unique finishes such as vintage luxury metals, abstract stone and wood can be printed on various types of metals. This manufacturing process results in high-fidelity finishes capable of various fabrication types of a metal substrate, while providing a Class A Fire-Rated, durable, easily maintained and sustainable product. For exterior applications, we will discuss the advantages of using a FEVE over PVDF coatings.
