The Brockweir Bridge in the Wye Valley was built in 1908 to replace the ferry. The historic Grade-II bridge spans the border between Wales and England and is a critical link between Brockweir and A46, just over the river Wye.

The bridge, as many of the time, was constructed with cast and wrought iron. The representatives at Unova Products describe, “This whole structure [from piers to spans] required refurbishment and repainting. Being situated in a difficult access location and on a tidal river, it was crucial to go for a long-life paint system that will protect the frame of the bridge, bring down maintenance intervals and extend the asset life of the structure.”

A&I Coatings' FEVE system was specified to ensure a long lifespan and a durable finish. Samantha Lester from CC Services stated, “When utilizing the fluoropolymer paint system, you are trebling the paint's life span and ultimately reducing maintenance costs and the project's carbon footprint for a minimum total project cost increase.”
