The new Chase Center in San Francisco, home of the Golden State Warriors, was designed in a collaborative effort by Gensler, Manica Architecture, and Kendall/Heaton Associates. The arena is the anchor of the 11-acre Mission Bay mixed-use entertainment district.

108 Chambers is a 10-story mixed-use residential building in Tribeca. By Greystone Development, and designed by Woods Bagot, the building features multiple condominium floors with ground-level retail. The exterior immediately grabs attention with a series of angular protruding bronzed aluminum panels. The building serves as a great contrasting element to the surrounding more traditional New York City facades.

This course discusses the future of exterior coatings and finishes, and explains the bespoke process of achieving a site-specific, client-specific design. Using the offset gravure printing process, unique finishes such as vintage luxury metals, abstract stone and wood can be printed on various types of metals. This manufacturing process results in high-fidelity finishes capable of various fabrication types of a metal substrate, while providing a Class A Fire-Rated, durable, easily maintained and sustainable product. For exterior applications, we will discuss the advantages of using a FEVE over PVDF coatings.

The Pointe Defiance Zoo & Aquarium (PDZA) was designed by architecture firm EHDD. Sitting in Tacoma, Washington, the project houses a 35,000 square-foot exhibition space where residents and tourists alike can experience a plethora of native Pacific Rim marine life. The building, which replaced the PDZA’s North Pacific Aquarium, features a vast expansion to now include a 250,000-gallon warm water tank which houses impressive scalloped hammerhead sharks and sea turtles.

1000 Maine is a LEED Gold office building in the heart of the District’s Wharf redevelopment project in southwest Washington, DC. The award-winning project, on the west end of the redeveloped site, serves as a “gateway” for this expansive and highly developed area.
