All-Tech Coatings, a specialty division of All-Tech Decorating, out of Chicago Illinois was contracted for a colorful school roof restoration in Steubenville, Ohio. The original baked-on Kynar finish of the standing seam roof had experienced weathering and unexplainable peeling, down to the roof’s primer. This created the perfect opportunity for the high school to not only repaint, but to paint the roof with a color more symbolic to the school. The client chose PPG’s “Surrey Beige” to match the school’s signature colors.

Elementary School Roof Restoration With Flexible FEVE Fluoropolymer Coating

The Gladeville Elementary School in Galax, VA is another example of a school building that uses a standing seam metal roof system. Many building owners look to these roof systems because of their durability, versatility and longevity, however, the baked-on finishes are usually the first component of standing seam metal roofs to fail. Instead of a cost-intensive replacement, many building owners seek a professional recoating. In the case of the Gladeville Elementary School, All-Tech Coatings contractors were able to achieve a factory-like finish using PPG’s Coraflon ADS coating with Lumiflon FEVE fluoropolymer resin – which has been proven to outperform similar coatings systems.

The Bailey’s Crossroads Skyline buildings in Arlington, VA were completed in the 1970s. The original black coatings used on the aluminum façade of the building had transformed to a dark brown, mud-like color that were in need of dire attention. In 2001, the building’s former owners, Charles E. Smith Co. then hired William Pegues of Weigh Design Group who contacted his representatives at PPG. They recommended Coraflon ADS with Lumiflon FEVE flouropolymer resin-based coating for its field applicability, durability and extensive color selection that match factory applied coatings.

Restoring Curtain Walls And Extrusions Using Lumiflon FEVE Resins

Erie On The Park, Extrustions, Restoration
Unlike roofing panels, curtain walls and extrusions are subjected to different amounts of weathering and deterioration. Typically, complete replacement of curtain walls and extrusions are costly, and they also interfere with the building’s operations for long periods of time. Instead, restoration of these metal substrates is a more viable option to the building owners. These projects require the careful removal of the existing coating, priming and the application of the new coating as to prevent accidental overspray on other parts of the building or surroundings. All-Tech Decorating (ATD) of Romeoville, IL chooses PPG’s Coraflon ADS coatings enriched with Lumiflon FEVE Resins for their ability to achieve factory-like finishes as well as reduce metallic flop.
