The hotel utilizes two volumes, the base features the hotel’s public use areas including the lobby, restaurant and conference center. The top base features the hotel’s over 400 rooms. The architects at Snøhetta explain, “The lamella volume is designed with reflective metal facades of natural anodized aluminum. The façade design has its inspiration from Stavanger’s role as a former center for the fishing and canning industries.”

The façade is enveloped in Alucobond Plus panels in naturAL Reflect, naturAL Brushed and Anodized Look. As representatives at Alucobond describe, “The finishes are strategically placed in a purposeful pattern to create an interplay of light throughout the day. Ornate in design; the façade serves as a great inspiration tool for the community who has transformed from a former fishing and canning epicenter.”
The panels are enriched in Lumiflon FEVE resin technology which accounts for their unparalleled luster. The fluoropolymer topcoat allows for unparalleled gloss and color retention and also prevents against both chalking and fading. The color’s brightness can be attributed to the use of Lumiflon FEVE resin. Additionally, the use of a high-performance fluoropolymer topcoat will ensure protection against elemental deterrents that contribute to degradation.
