In southwestern Ontario, Canada stands the Chatham-Kent Water Tank. The one-million-gallon tank was built in 1994 and upon an assessment in 2013 was required to undergo both an interior and exterior recoat due to rust bloom. As part of the local area’s Community Brand campaign, which featured the water tank’s design, videos, banners and graphic designs, the tank was redesigned and recoated utilizing Tnemec Company’s fluoropolymer coating system.

Illinois American Water constructed a new composite elevated water tank in 2016. According to Tnemec Company, the tank provides, “…pressure reliability during power fluctuations at three water treatment plants and supplements five other storage tanks and four booster stations on the distribution system. It was also built to provide potable water to customers in the Champaign service area.”

In the late 1960s a 251-foot architectural landmark was built at the University at Albany in New York. The 320,000-gallon standpipe water tank was in desperate need of renovation after seeing massive corrosion. The engineers at Delta and Field Applicator, TDA Construction, worked closely with Tnemec Company to replace the structure’s lead-based exterior paint and interior lining with an advanced fluoropolymer coating system.
