Solvent Based

LUMIFLON solvent based resins have been in use for over 35 years, in applications as diverse as bridge coatings, coil coatings for architectural applications, automotive coatings, and aerospace coatings. These ultra-weatherable resins can be formulated into coatings with a wide range of gloss and color. They can be used in the field for re-coating of structures, or in the shop to manufacture pre-coated panels.

Water Based

Applications requiring superior weatherability using environmentally friendly materials benefit from water based FEVE resins.

Water emulsion grade resins were developed as solvent free alternatives to traditional fluororesins. These resins can be formulated into single component or two component coatings that have excellent weatherability. The development of LUMIFLON emulsions involved modifications of the LUMIFLON chemical structure, shown below.

Water dispersion grade resin FD1000 is a water dispersion resin, developed as a solvent free alternative to traditional LUMIFLON resins. FD1000 is made by partially carboxylating a standard LUMIFLON resin, neutralizing with an amine, stripping solvent, then dispersing the resulting product in water. FD1000 is usually formulated into two component coatings with excellent weatherability.

Powder Coating

LUMIFLON LF710F was developed specifically for use in powder coatings. It’s high Tg means that it blends easily with other components of powder coating formulations, including pigments, isocyanates, and additives. Powder coatings made with LF710F offer the same outstanding weatherability as LUMIFLON liquid coatings.

LF710F…

  • Is used to make ultra-weatherable fluorourethane powder coatings.
  • Powder coating can be produced with conventional facilities.
  • Powder coating can attain gloss from matte finishes to high gloss.
  • Powder coating can attain various types of finishes from clear coats to varied colors.
  • Powder coating system is cost competitive against PVdF system, without requiring the use of cryogenic grinding.
